Instead of the CONCATENATE formula itself, we can also use the <strong>\u201c&amp;\u201d sign to connect<\/strong> the two cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concatenate Numbers and Percentages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For the example that we will show, there is one thing to be clarified- we can either combine numbers and percentage signs, or we can combine one number with another number that will be in the form of a percentage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first case that we will show refers to the combination of a number and a percentage. We will insert a number in <strong>cell A2<\/strong> and a <strong>percentage sign in cell B2<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"207\" height=\"74\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15699\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Combining these two will be easy, as we can use the actual formula (\u201c=CONCATENATE(A2,B2)\u201d) or we can simply type in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>=A2&amp;B2<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>cell C2<\/strong>. As a result, we will have these two combined, and will have a <strong>100%<\/strong> written in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"392\" height=\"122\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-2.png 392w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-2-300x93.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a relatively simple formula that can be used if the number and percentage are separated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can, however, stumble upon a situation where we have a number, and then another number that will be presented as a percentage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"205\" height=\"108\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15701\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We would have difficulty using the same formula. If we just drag and drop the formula into the <strong>cell C2<\/strong>, we will end up with the following result:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"388\" height=\"156\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15702\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-4.png 388w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/word-image-15698-4-300x121.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 388px) 100vw, 388px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As the <strong>20% is basically 0.2<\/strong> in numbers, these numbers are added up in the example above. To change this, and to show both the <strong>numbers 40 and 20%<\/strong> we need to tweak the formula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this, we need to <strong>change the data type<\/strong> of our <strong>cell B3<\/strong>. We need to make the <strong>numbers 20%<\/strong> as a <strong>TEXT<\/strong>.
