Because sigma (<a href=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/examples\/plot-mean-and-standard-deviation\/\">standard deviation<\/a> symbol) is a Greek letter, in the subset, check <strong>Greek and Coptic<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"563\" height=\"407\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/symbol-window.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/symbol-window.png 563w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/symbol-window-300x217.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Click <strong>Insert<\/strong> to place the number. You can add more than one number this way &#8211; one after another.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Close<\/strong> to close this window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Sigma symbol is now present on the sheet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"218\" height=\"100\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/sigma.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3440\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Insert sigma using the character map<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This method can be faster because it will allow you to search for a particular word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Windows 7, you can find <strong>Character Map<\/strong> in <strong>Start &gt;&gt; All Programs &gt;&gt; Accessories &gt;&gt; System Tools &gt;&gt; Character Map<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Windows 10, you can type \u201cCharacter Map\u201d inside the search window in the bottom-left corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"392\" height=\"335\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/search-window-character-map.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/search-window-character-map.png 392w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/search-window-character-map-300x256.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A new window will appear. you can find sigma inside this list. But this is not a good idea \u2013 the list is huge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"476\" height=\"413\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/character-map.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/character-map.png 476w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/character-map-300x260.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 476px) 100vw, 476px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A better way to do this is to click the <strong>Advanced view<\/strong> checkbox. The Character Map window will expand, and you have the option to search for a particular phrase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because we search for sigma, insert this work inside the textbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"476\" height=\"177\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/advanced-view-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/advanced-view-1.png 476w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/advanced-view-1-300x112.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 476px) 100vw, 476px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Because there are many characters inside the character list, and the word sigma wasn\u2019t precise enough you will receive a list of characters, from which you have to choose. Now, you have to copy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under <strong>Characters to Copy<\/strong> click Select.
