But sometimes you really need this feature, especially if you have to deal with a large amount of data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this lesson, I\u2019m going to show you a few simple ways you can convert lowercase, or mixed case sentences into all caps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All caps with formula<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/en\/functions\/upper\">UPPER<\/a> formula changes every letter inside a cell to uppercase. It doesn\u2019t matter what is the combination of small caps and large caps, it changes it all to uppercase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted lang:vb decode:true\">=UPPER(A2)<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, you have some examples, of how this function behaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"273\" height=\"140\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/upper-formula.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3504\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All caps without formula<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t want to use a formula, you can create VBA code that will convert selected cells to uppercase within the selected cells. Here is the code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open the VBA Editor by using <strong>Left Alt + F11<\/strong>, and insert the following code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted lang:vb decode:true\">Sub AllCaps()\n    For Each Cell In Selection\n        If Not Cell.HasFormula Then\n            Cell.Value = UCase(Cell.Value)\n        End If\n    Next Cell\nEnd Sub\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the result, you will get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"378\" height=\"140\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/all-caps-macro.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/all-caps-macro.png 378w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/all-caps-macro-300x111.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 378px) 100vw, 378px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shortcut icon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to create a shortcut icon for our subroutine, you have to click the <strong>Customize Quick Access Toolbar<\/strong> icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"271\" height=\"32\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/customize-quick-access-toolbar.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3496\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From there, select the <strong>More Commands<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"212\" height=\"79\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/more-commands.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3502\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the drop-down <strong>Choose commands from<\/strong> select Macros and select our <strong>AllCaps<\/strong> macro. Click <strong>Add &gt;&gt;<\/strong> button. Now the macro is visible in Quick Access Toolbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"625\" height=\"391\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/excel-options-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3497\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/excel-options-1.png 625w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/excel-options-1-300x188.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can keep it this way. But I suggest changing the icon, especially if you create other shortcuts from macros. I chose the following icon, but you can choose any icon you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"282\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/modify-button.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/modify-button.png 282w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/modify-button-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 282px) 100vw, 282px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, if you want to change the text to all caps, you can select the cells you want to modify and click the icon in the <a href=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/training\/quick-access-toolbar\/\">Quick Access Toolbar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"297\" height=\"31\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/uppercase-icon.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3503\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Keyboard shortcut<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the icon, you can also add a keyboard shortcut to our macro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open your PERSONAL.XLSB workbook and click <strong>View &gt;&gt; Macros &gt;&gt; View Macros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"65\" height=\"92\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/view-macros.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3505\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A new window called Macro will appear. Click the <strong>AllCaps<\/strong> subroutine and then click <strong>Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"418\" height=\"363\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/macro-window.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/macro-window.png 418w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/macro-window-300x261.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 418px) 100vw, 418px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside a new window, under the <strong>Shortcut key,<\/strong> there is a little text area. Click inside it and press <strong>Shift + A<\/strong>. This will assign <strong>Ctrl + Shift + A<\/strong> button to the macro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"326\" height=\"246\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/macro-options.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3498\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/macro-options.png 326w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/11\/macro-options-300x226.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 326px) 100vw, 326px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the cells you want to convert to uppercase and press the keyboard shortcut you\u2019ve just created. You can also use other shortcuts, but remember that it will override the default Excel shortcut. Be sure you don\u2019t use it for other tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Free plugin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also change the text to uppercase by using a free <a href=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/\">plugin for SEO<\/a>.
