You can group dates by seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, quarters, and years. I\u2019ll also show you how you can group data by week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Click any cell inside a table and insert a PivotTable (<strong>Insert &gt;&gt; Tables &gt;&gt; PivotTable<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Date<\/strong> and <strong>Units<\/strong>. When you select <strong>Date<\/strong>, Excel will automatically add Quarters and Years.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"261\" height=\"311\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/quarters-and-years.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3941\" srcset=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/quarters-and-years.png 261w, https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/quarters-and-years-252x300.png 252w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 261px) 100vw, 261px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Uncheck them. We have only January and December and these two months will be displayed inside the PivotTable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"268\" height=\"121\" src=\"https:\/\/officetuts.net\/excel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/01\/grouped-by-month-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3947\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Group by days<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Grouping by days displays our data the same way as ungrouped PivotTable because each row in our data represents a single day.
